Both courses are excellent introductions to the care of the critically ill adult or child and with high quality teaching from local and visiting Intensivists.

Adult BASIC Course

Thursday 30th April and Friday 1st May 2026

This 2- day course is ideal for doctors and nurses starting out in critical care or hoping to consolidate foundational knowledge. The course covers essential skills in managing critically ill adults including haemodynamic monitoring, management of shock, airway skills and mechanical ventilation.This course is endorsed by the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (CICM).

Paediatric Basic is a comprehensive 2- day course designed to equip healthcare professionals with the essential skills and knowledge required for the ongoing management of critically ill children following the initial resuscitation and stabilsation phases.

Beyond BASIC- Mechanical Ventilation

Thursday 4th & Friday 5th June 2026

Designed to teach the practical aspects of mechanical ventilation, this two-day course is intended for clinicians with a basic understanding of mechanical ventilation who wish to further develop their knowledge. Lectures, skill stations, and e-learning cover topics including heart–lung interactions, various ventilator modes, troubleshooting, the management of patient–ventilator dyssynchrony, and the management of specific pathologies.
